Butler leads Saints over Knights

Owen Butler scored a pair of second half goals to lead the St. Anne Saints sr. boys soccer team to a 3-0 win over Holy Names in their opening game of the 2025 season.

"Good first game of the season," Butler told Powerplay Sports. "It's a big rivalry. I think it was the preparation and hard work we put in in the off-season."

The Saints beat Holy Names in the WECSSAA final last year and went on to OFSAA where they didn't do as well as they had hoped. St. Anne has a renewed enthusiasm to return and do better.

"Hopefully better this year. OFSAA medal, that's the goal for this year. We've been working since about January so hopefully we can make it happen."
