The Essex 73’s kept rolling Tuesday night in front of their home crowd, cruising to an 8–1 victory over the Amherstburg Admirals to extend their win streak to three games. The win gives Essex a three-point cushion atop the Stobbs Division standings over the Lakeshore Canadiens, who still hold two games in hand.
Jack Lewis and Connor Hunt each scored twice to lead the way for the 73’s, while Luke Sherk had a strong three-assist performance. Essex set the tone early, with Lewis opening the scoring just 1:46 into the game. Jaxen Fortier-Smith added another before Amherstburg’s Drew Booker got the Admirals on the board late in the first.
From there, it was all Essex. Hunt struck twice in the second period, sandwiched around a goal from Carter Dembinski, before the 73’s poured it on in the third with tallies from Marcus Levesque, Ethan O’Neil, and Lewis again to seal the win.
The 73’s will look to keep their momentum going when they visit Wheatley Saturday night.
