Holy Names is the cream of the crop

Updated: Feb 21, 2024

There was no stopping the Holy Names sr. boys basketball team this season. They went undefeated during the regular season and won the WECSSAA AAA title with ease beating St. Anne 79-54 Sunday night at the St. Clair College Sportsplex.

The Knights were too hot to handle with four players hitting double digit scoring led by Austin Brown who had a game-high 22. Arnez Kerr finished with 18, Mr. Basketball Arlind Avdo had 17 while Keilan Laporte pitched in 12 for the Knights.

The Saints kept it close early trailing by four after the first quarter but Kerr dazzled in the second quarter with 10 point to jump start the Knights who now host the SWOSSA championship Thursday night at 6:30 against Chatham's Ursuline College.
