Les Aigles undefeated heading into last match of 2024

The L'Essor sr. girls volleyball team finds itself at the top of the Tier 1 division after week two of the regular season with a 4-0 record. Les Aigles, who beat (0-4) Massey in their last match December 12 have won 11 sets and dropped only one.

"We've really starting to work well together as a team and figuring things out," said Kaiya Hlady. "A few players are injured but we're working through that. Everybody's finding their place on the team."

With an older team, including Juliana Miecz who recently committed to the University of Windsor, Les Aigles are hoping to have a strong season. They'll square off against (0-4) Erie Migration Monday afternoon before their next big test of the season Thursday November 19th at home when they welcome (3-1) Riverside to Tecumseh at 4pm.

"We're very excited for that game and to push ourselves as well."

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
