Morneau ready to take flight with Bowling Green Falcons

After three seasons and nearly 200 games in the OHL, Noah Morneau is preparing for the next stage of his hockey career — NCAA Division I hockey with the Bowling Green Falcons.

Morneau now joins a Falcons team that went 12-10-4 last season before being eliminated in the CCHA semi-finals by St. Thomas. "It's the style of game I'm excited to learn and adapt to," Morneau said. "Super excited to get down there and meet everybody and hopefully continue playing well."

Earlier this summer, Morneau took part in a different kind of competition — serving as a caddy at the Western Ontario Golf Championships held at Roseland. "It's pretty fun," Morneau told Powerplay Sports. "My first time, bring the bag around and just be there as a guy to hang out with and give insight. Good time."

The 20-year-old forward spent his junior career with the Windsor Spitfires, playing in 199 games and totaling 132 points. Last season was his best, tallying 73 points (32 goals, 41 assists) and finishing with a +28 rating. In the playoffs, Morneau added another 17 points (11G, 6A) in just 12 games.

Morneau reflected on his time with the Spitfires and wishes he could play one more year. "I'm gonna miss those guys a lot," he told Powerplay Sports. "Wally (Head Coach Greg Walters) as a coach is so good. They're going to be a great team. I have no doubt in my mind. I think they have a great chance, hopefully be Memorial Cup champs. That would be awesome. I'm gonna be watching and cheering for them."
