In this edition of I Remember When....former Leamington Flyers forward Thomas Grubb looks back at the time he was involved in a national anthem standoff. During the 1998-99 season the Flyers were hosting the Strathroy Rockets.

Grubb explain, "We had a thing where we waited 'til the national anthem was totally finished and the other team started putting their gear back on, their helmets and gloves, and then we'd proceed to put our helmets and gloves on after".

On this night the Rockets decided to stand there after the anthem finished and wait for the Flyers to make the first move. See how it unfolded in this video brought to you by Unifor Local 444.
