St. Joe's survives battle with Knights

The St. Joe's sr. girls basketball team came out blazing late in the first half and opened up a 41-20 lead Tuesday night at Holy Names.

The Knights came out of the break looking like a fresh team as they fought their way back into the game. Yasmin Kadri was the inspirational leader for the Knights as Holy Names cut the deficit to eight points with under two minutes to go in the game.


St. Joe's held on for a 66-56 win. Mya Tate led all scorers with 16 points for the Lasers. Mya Fuerth pitched in 14 as St. Joe's remains undefeated at 9-0. Kadri had 13 for Holy Names who drop to 6-2. They'll play St. Anne Thursday before closing out against Villanova next Monday. The Lasers close out the regular season Monday against 6-2 St. Anne who beat Sandwich 48-38.
