Weekend sports recap

The Forest Glade Falcons U-17's won gold at a tournament in Milton. They went undefeated with 3 blowout wins: 12-2 over Milton, 25-2 over North Bay and 20-7 Newmarket to play the Tara Twins in the final game. The Falcons won it in a 7-6 victory. The midgets were in Stouffville and won gold with a 17-2 win.



The Border City Boxing Club‘s Rosalind “Soup” Canty took home the Women’s Reign Belt this weekend in Toronto. Canty, defeated Toronto’s Gloria Lim by unanimous decision. Canty, the 2022 Ontario Champion, and recent Quebec Open Champion, will be competing in the Main Event in Windsor on July 8th at the Border City Boxing Club on our city’s first All-Female boxing card. Canty‘s teammate, Jarelyn Castillo, also won on Saturday night, defeating Toronto’s Victoria Penney, by unanimous decision. Tickets For the all female card in Windsor on July 8 will be on sale soon.


Two more wins this past weekend for the Windsor Clippers. They beat Cambridge 12-4 Saturday night. Brennan McCallum and Max Frattaroli each score two goals and had three assists. McCallum added a pair Sunday in a 6-5 win over Hamilton to earn player of the game. Windsor moves up to 4th in the Western Conference with a record of 13-5.


The Windsor SC Fury Girls U17's are the Graham Buntin Classic Tounament Champions. They travelled to Stratford and come home winners.


Congratulations to the Leamington Lakers 11U team on their second place finish this past weekend in Dorchester.

The Lakers went 5-1 and played some great ball. They lost in a well played championship game but fell to last years OBA champs-Dorchester. The final score was 8-7 nail-biter.
