[Windsor, August 11th] – A hot summer day set the stage at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club, where the Unico Primo Junior Golf Tour continued its thrilling 2025 season. Players from across the region tackled a challenging layout that demanded precision, patience, and poise.
Leading the charge was Bennett Brazier, who dazzled on his home course with a sizzling 4-under-par 68, the low round of the day. "I felt like my putter was hot," Brazier told Powerplay Sports, "I hit my wedges close and even when I was 20-plus yards out I felt like I could make it (the putt)."
Brazier's performance held off strong challenges from Andrew Baker (Kingsville) and Carter Cadotte (Maple City), both carding solid rounds of 71. Close behind were Finlay Burns (Essex) and Jackson Pracey (Kingsville), each signing for a 73.
Brazier has been coming on strong during the back half of the tour schedule. He sits second overall with 452.5 points but will not be able to catch Baker, at the top with 466.5 points, when the tour concludes Thursday in Kingsville. "The best I can do is lose by .5 points. Beating him today definitely felt good but it was definitely about being comfortably under par that was relieving. Overall I'm totally happy with the round and felt I could have gone even lower. It felt really good."

In the Junior Girls division, Madelaine Beck of Beach Grove continued her standout season, firing a composed even-par 72. Beck has been lurking in the shadow all summer but today's win has put her at the top of the leaderboard with a chance to clinch the title in Kingsville. Kassandra Rombouts and Haylee Crawley, both representing Maple City, finished second and third with rounds of 79 and 82, respectively.
The Collegiate Men’s division featured another commanding display from Christian Morneau (Kingsville/University of Memphis), whose 1-under-par 71 secured yet another win and brought him closer to the overall crown. River Michalczuk (Beach Grove) impressed with a 73, his best showing of the year, while Brett Davidson (Willow Ridge) posted a respectable 75.
Among the Collegiate Women, Vanessa Ardovini (Roseland/University of Windsor) once again set the pace, her 78 the only sub-80 round in the division. Fellow Lancer Kennedy Fremlin (Essex) followed with an 81, while Justine Gorham (St. Clair) rounded out the top three at 87.
The season now heads to Kingsville Golf and Country Club for the tour finale on Thursday, where titles will be on the line with tee times set for 11:30 a.m.
