Baker, Beck, Teichroeb, and Fremlin Capture Kingsville Titles as Junior Golf Tour Closes Season in Style
KINGSVILLE – The 2025 season of the Unico Primo Junior Golf Tour came to an exciting conclusion at Kingsville Golf and Country Club recently, where top junior and collegiate golfers battled for final bragging rights ahead of the year-end awards banquet.
Thrilling Finishes Highlight Final Tour Stop

In the Junior Boys division, the crowd at the 18th green witnessed a moment of magic as Kingsville’s own Andrew Baker sank a dramatic birdie putt to card an even-par 70.
“To sink the 50-footer was obviously a really cool moment, and at the time I didn’t know it was going to be for the win,” Baker told Powerplay Sports. “Honestly I was just trying to 2-putt from there but it found the cup so I guess that works too.“
The clutch finish was just enough to edge Beach Grove’s Bennett Brazier, who finished one shot back with a 71. Jackson Pracey, also of Kingsville, matched Brazier’s score to tie for second.
Baker finished at the top of the standings with 473.5 points. Pracey was second at 461.5 while former champion Brazier was third with 458.5 points.
“Winning the Unico Primo is really special and it means a lot, the competition is extremely good and underrated in my opinion, and to be one of the better local juniors around is also really cool.”
“For the tour to be around that long with lots of top people winning it including D1 golfers and more makes it that much better. The tour is so smoothly run by Dan Demarco, Jarrod Smith and all the volunteers, and all the young juniors in Windsor Essex county are extremely lucky to have it.” Baker said.
Madelaine Beck of Beach Grove capped a stellar season in the Junior Girls division, firing an 80 to capture yet another win. Ella Harris (Essex), soon to tee it up with the University of Windsor, was just one shot behind at 81. Frankie Fields rounded out the top three with an 82.

The win was her fifth of the summer earning Beck the overall title. She finished with 119 points. “Winning the tour means a lot to me because I was able to prove to myself that all the hard work and time that I put into my game was worth it to build up to this point,” Beck said. “Before this year I was never able to go really low and this summer has allowed me to realize my potential, know that I can compete and also add my name to a list of very successful junior girls who have won this tour before me“
Placing second was Kassandra Rombouts who won three events and was contending for the title before missing the season finale.
"We all missed events to play in other tournaments," Rombouts told Powerplay Sports. "I knew I had to have clean stats. I had to hit fairways. I had to hit greens. If I didn't I had to make my up and downs."
Heading into her final year at LCCVI in Petrolia, Rombouts lives on the right side of the border between the Unico Primo Tour and the Tyson Tour in London and was more than happy to drive over an hour to play in Essex-County.
"I love this tour with a passion. I know all the girls. The girls are all competitve. We all push each other."
Beck enjoyed the competition and camaraderie. “ It was super fun to be a part of and come out on top of this tour. While still being one of the younger girls, I was able to set big goals, try going low and then expect a close run for the win. There was never a guaranteed win on this tour and that is a big part of what made it so fun. Even when me and other girls were up head to head for the win, it was a fun, encouraging and supportive environment.”
The Collegiate Men’s division was won in convincing fashion by Kingsville’s Kevin Teichroeb. Leaning on home-course familiarity and his status as reigning club champion, Teichroeb shot a superb 68 to finish five strokes ahead of St. Clair’s Nathan White (73) and Pfieffer University’s Brandon Allen (74).
Christian Morneau won the division with 118 points while Teichroeb was second at 114.
In the Collegiate Women’s division, it was a tight finish between University of Windsor teammates. Kennedy Fremlin (Essex) carded a 77 to narrowly edge Vanessa Ardovini (Roseland), who delivered the day’s biggest highlight with a hole-in-one on the par-3 8th.

"It was my third hole-in-one, second at Kingsville which is crazy," Ardovini said. "I hit a great shot and I knew it was going right at the hole but the way the green was we couldn't actually see it go in. When I got up to the green I actually was looking off the back thinking it rolled off, but when I couldn't find it I checked the hole and saw it there."
Ardovini finished a half point ahead of Fremlin for the overall title at 34.5.
"It was definitely close. We always enjoy playing together so it was fun to compete with each other all summer. I'm super excited that we're both playing well going into the fall schedule for (University of Windsor) Lancer golf."
Scholarship Winners and Final Words
In recognition of academic and athletic excellence, five Tour players were awarded scholarships: Dayne Bensette, Ben Buchner, Isaac Reed, Ella Harris, and Bennett Brazier.
As the 2025 season wraps, the Unico Primo Junior Golf Tour extends its heartfelt thanks to the players, families, volunteers, officials, and host clubs whose dedication made this year possible. With strong performances, unforgettable moments, and rising stars emerging across all divisions, the future of golf in the region looks brighter than ever.
