Findlay and Moore headline Saints recruiting class

St. Clair manager Roberto Duncan knows he is bringing in six talented players and feels they have a lot of room to grow. "My goal since I became the head coach was not to only have good players but also try to help them be better than what they are when they leave." said Duncan.

Locals Owen Findlay and Cody Moore are PBLO all-stars who decided to remain in Windsor. "Very talented kids. I'm happy they stayed home."

Findlay, who also plays defence for the LaSalle Vipers, recently helped Villanova bring home OFSAA bronze while Moore, a Sandwich grad, is dropping track and field to focus solely on being a solid pitcher for the Saints.

Andrew Cooper is a pitcher coming from Brampton. Ethan Paulos is a junior college outfield transfer from the U.S. who hails from Hamilton. Garrett Kratz is a catcher who is transferring from Centennial College and pitcher Myles Legoute of Alberta rounds out the recruit class.

In the last eight seasons St. Clair has won six gold, one silver and a bronze. Duncan coached the team to the provincial championship in his first season as bench boss last fall and is hoping to keep the momentum going this year. "We have the mindset we're not trying to stop anytime soon. We're trying to keep that winning culture."

"Another great resource for local sports produced by a person that has been invested in local sports for decades."

This is why...

Powerplay Sports was born while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2018. Walking through a charming pedestrian underpass reminded me of being in the tunnel at the University of Michigan in the early part of my career. That feeling led to thoughts of Windsor Lancers football camp opening in three weeks and all of the fall sports that weren't going to be covered because of cuts to local sports coverage by legacy media.

With the support of a loving wife and family, I decided to create Powerplay Sports as a passion project.

I've come across some great people who have helped capture the essence of our community throughout the years like Tony Techko, Tony Doucette, Scott Scantlebury, Dom Papa, Steve Bell, Will Hill, Jim Parker and Mary Caton to name a few.

Please spread the word and follow along here or on social media so we can continue having the priviledge of highlighting our athletes, our community.
