The 17-year old used a 7-iron on hole five and sunk a hole-in-one from 175 yards out.

Well, I saw that it was a pretty difficult hole, little elevation, I wanted to stick it into the middle of the green to have a chance for birdie.” James told Powerplay Sports. “I realized it was in when my good friend Jack Jenkins, who was the group in front of me, started yelling, I had no idea it was in and thought it went long behind the hole. I was in shock, and didn’t yell super loud to respect the other players around me.

In his first season, James finished with a 79 on the day. A St. Anne student, James is only in his second year of golf and the fourth stop on the Unico Primo Tour was the third event of his career.

Jack Dupuis and Geordie Johnson tied for the win shooting a 1-under-71. Bennett Brazier, Lucas DeLorenzi and Rohan Chawla finished second with an even-par-71. Dayne Bensette, who also shot 79, continues to lead in the overall standings.

Madeline Beck shot a 4-over-75 to win the junior girls division. Kassandra Rombouts was second with a 78. Olivia Tartaro, who was third with an 80, is still at the top of the leaderboard with 38.5 points followed by Hannah Butzer (37.5) and Beck (37.0).

Christian Morneau shot a 70 and Vanessa Ardovini carded an 82 to win collegiate division.
