Joe Barile, president of the Essex-County Soccer Association, can't wait to see players on the new turf field at McHugh Park. Construction is coming along. "The Windsor Essex soccer community is excited and looking forward to playing on a first class municipal artificial turf field for many years to come," Barile told Powerplay Sports. "Special thanks to the ECSA, the City of Windsor and the province of Ontario who all provided funding to make this project a reality."

There's still some work being done to the sidelines and completion is expected at the end of November for use in the spring. The field is FIFA rated artificial turf (cork based) with lighting, shelter for players and officials as well as a paved path to the field.
