Saints Women's Soccer

The St. Clair College women's soccer team continued their strong start with a win and tie this weekend. Scotlyn Fick recorded the clean sheet as the Saints beat Sheridan 4-0 Saturday afternoon at Acumen Stadium. Natalie Kersey was a force in the second half with a second half goal and assist to break open a 1-0 game.

The Saints followed up with a 1-1 tie vs Niagara (2-0-1) Sunday. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Talia Liburdi's shot from 12 yards away to the far side of the Niagara goal squirted through the legs of the Knights' keeper Sarah Haist with Allie Tales depositing the ball into the open net for the tie. https://youtu.be/d1YeVPFC-Cs?t=7112

Next up: On the road at Mohawk Friday night and Redeemer Saturday afternoon.

Windsor Lancers Football

Kicker Brady Lidster nailed all five of his field goal attempts Saturday night at Alumni Field, powering the Windsor Lancers to a 29-13 win over McMaster. The victory was Windsor's first of the season following two losses and the field goals helped Lidster set a Lancer record. The 4th year kicker now has 63 field goals which includes a career best 55 yarder last fall.

Quarterback Nick Dimovski hit Brett Bjorgan from seven yards out to make it 10-3 early on. Leading 19-13 in the 4th, the Lancers weren't about to allow another visiting team to walk away with a comeback win. Andrew Delaney broke through and rushed for a 25-yard touchdown late in the 4th to seal the deal.

Next up: Windsor (1-2) is at Toronto next weekend. The Varsity Blues are 1-3 this season.

Kopcok leads Lakeshore Canadiens

Michael Kopcok wasted little time making his presence known accounting for 2 goals and an assists to lead the Lakeshore Canadiens to a season opening 4-2 over the Wheatley Sharks Friday night.
